I’m Filippa Lagerbäck, a happy Swede from Stockholm, where I grew up and went to school. After high school, I left the country to try my luck in the world of fashion for a year, before starting university. No need to say: I never came back.
I was “discovered” on a street in Stockholm by a model scout when I was 14 and started modelling on weekends and summer vacations, but I would have been in big trouble if I´d missed even a day of school, that was the deal with my mum.
First stop, the capital of fashion, Milano, where I stayed for a couple of months before moving on to Paris, London, NY, the world had became my office, and I travelled it for 10 years, living out of a suitcase.
After starring in some fortunate commercials in Italy, Peroni being the most famous one, the Italian director Giovanni Veronesi, gave me a part in his movie; Silenzio si Nasce, with actors Paolo Rossi and Sergio Castellitto.
Soon after Fiorello casted me in his tvshow, Superball. I was looking for new exciting things to do, and jumped on the train. After that followed 2 seasons of the candid camera show, Candid Angels, with Samantha Degrenet and Alessia Merz and Strano Ma Vero with Gene Gnocchi and Cristina Parodi.
For the show Controvento, I travelled around Italy on a sailboat, hosting artist on my boat. In every program I had an exciting personal sports challenge, parachuting, diving, kitesurfing, swimming with dolphins, waterskiing, rock climbing… wow, that summer was a blast!
The circus was the show I hosted for the next couple of years, getting to know a new world with lots of great people. I´ll never forget standing on stage with the cast of Cirque du Soleil in Orlando, Florida!
A completely new challenge was touring with the standup comedian Gabriele Cirilli, doing sketches, dancing and singing with him on stage for two summers in a row. Performing live on stage is such a mindblowing experience, and more than once I asked myself what on earth I was doing there! As soon as I put my foot on stage though, that feeling disappeard and the fun started!
In 2003 my biggest success: my daughter Stella!
In 2004 the Swedish TV4 called me to offer me to host the reality The farm, and the next year I started the collaboration with the Italian show Che tempo che fa, where I still work today. In 2012 I started hosting a show together with Pino Strabioli, That’s Italia, on air every Saturday on La7d, where we are discovering Italia and the Italians!
In 2010 I hosted the Swedish show The Italian Dream (TV4) where 5 Swedish couples get the chance to fulfil their dream of leaving Sweden to create a new life in Italy. Here the two ends meet for me, I presented my new country Italy, to my childhood love, Sweden.
I´ve felt the need to express myself more and share all the great moments that I experience, so that´s why I decided to start this blog. If you´ve made it all the way here to my virtual space, I just want to thank you and embrace you in a big hug, welcoming you to Planet fil!!!
